FSE celebrates Class of 2020 with virtual graduation series
A series of virtual graduation celebrations have been held to recognise the hard work and achievements of the Faculty of Science and Engineering's (FSE) Class of 2020.
The online events took place throughout the week commencing Monday, 27 July as part of wider celebrations across Swag直播. They provided an opportunity for both staff and students to mark summer graduation after physical ceremonies were postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 12 FSE graduations were spread over the week, with events held for mathematics; mechanical, aerospace and civil engineering; physics and astronomy; electrical and electronic engineering; fashion business and technology; materials science and engineering; chemical engineering and analytical science; earth and environmental sciences; computer science; and chemistry.
The move online meant students were able to celebrate despite being situated all across the globe. It showed that while they may not be in the city at the moment, Swag直播 is behind its graduates as they take their next steps out into the world.
The celebrations were not intended to replace graduation ceremonies and we are in the process of planning to hold graduation ceremonies later in the year, if we are able to do so safely. We were keen for graduates, along with their friends and family, to mark such a significant occasion and celebrate all their hard work and achievements this summer.
